About

Hello, it's Charmaine!

I’m a fluffy girl who’s on a journey to reach 200 pounds. Sure, 200 pounds still sounds like a lot, but my weight hasn’t been that low since my early teenage days. You bet your ass I’ll be bouncing off the walls when I crush this goal, boo!

As you can guess, I’ve been on a weight loss journey all my life! But it was late July 2017 that I decided I would give this journey a title and document it on Instagram and in this cute little space I’ve created. In addition to providing updates on my weight loss shenanigans, I’ll be sharing my opinions and experiences about what it’s been like living in a plus size body.

Fun Facts

I’m a boss. I’m the founder and owner of Strategic Charm Boutique. Through this business I help lady bosses with their online marketing – especially when it comes to the Instagram game!

I used to be an event planner! I hosted my first major event in 2013 while I was still in college. It was a Red Dress Gala & Fashion Show hosted to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. After graduation I worked as an event planning and wedding design coordinator. Weddings are neat, but I don’t think I’ll plan another one ever again…unless it’s my own. Next I became a corporate event planner and communications coordinator for a college up north.

I lived in small town Lac La Biche, Alberta for two years. Speaking of the college up north, that job opportunity was the reason I tackled on small-town life. I only planned on living there for two years, and that’s exactly how everything planned out. Back to Winnipeg I went. This girl belongs in the city!

I have a HUGE clothing addiction. Seriously. I just wanna buy all the clothes. Even as I write this I’m thinking about purchasing some cute stuff for Fashion Nova. Mmmm…new clothes!!!

I used to work with George Lopez. Well, not really. I was an extra in a Christmas movie he filmed here in Winnipeg. I was also an extra in a movie starring Thomas Gibson from Dharma and Greg. I was rocking poufy pink and blonde hair at the time, so I was afraid they weren’t going to use me.

I won a journalism award in college. I wrote a magazine article that was loosely about female circumcision and one of my journalism teachers submitted it to a contest without me knowing about it. That $500 award was pretty nice. I likely spent it on clothes.

Welcome to my life :)
