I wish my Thanksgiving long-weekend was filled with a juicy turkey with all the trimmings, but it was not. Here’s a look as the main meals I ate during the long weekend:
Friday – Went to Buffet Square (Chinese food) with the fam to celebrate a cousin’s birthday. When we go out for dinner it’s usually 7-11 of us who show up. And because my cousins can be picky eaters and sometimes waste food, buffets make the most sense for us. I’ve been working on getting rid of the mentality that because I’m at a buffet, I have to eat as much as humanly possible in order to get my money’s worth. 1. It’s not usually my money, 2. Even a small plate of some of my favourite things can make it worthwhile.
Saturday – My mom, grandparents and I went to Clay Oven (Indian food) for a late Thanksgiving lunch. I ordered a little less food than I normally do, and I even had a little to take home. Afterwards we went to Jenna Rae cakes and I got a cookie sandwich, cupcake, and two macarons.
Sunday – Had my leftover Indian food and desserts for breakfast, and a big ole coffee at 9:00 a.m. My friends and I went to Thermea for a much-needed spa day and it was absolutely glorious. I didn’t eat while I was there so I was starving by the time I got home at 6:00 p.m. I had a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs (more than was necessary) and a side Caesar salad. I had a couple of girlfriend over for a scary movie night, which means that I also had a couple glasses of red sangria.
Monday (today) – I had four pieces of eggnog French toast for breakfast. I ate a bit later in the day so I didn’t have my next meal until around 5:30 p.m. My mom, grandma, and cousin were over and we all had my leftover spaghetti and meatballs. I again ate more of it than necessary.
Surprisingly enough, I still managed to lose 4lbs last week. This week I want to make sure I’m eating out less and incorporating a lot more veggies into my meals.
